2006 is the 50th Anniversary of the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations - special in itself but to be able to celebrate in Buckingham Palace was very special indeed.
The focus on Tuesday 13 June was not about the NCPTA but about the individual and collective achievement of hundreds of thousands of volunteers who give their time and energy to influence parental involvement in education and to help make a difference to the opportunities available at schools throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland. For that reason we celebrated by recognising the first champions to receive Gold Star Rewards and Learning Education and Parental Partnership (LEAPP) Awards.
On these pages, you will find some background to the NCPTA, the Gold Star Rewards and the LEAPP Awards together with details of the winners and a selection of photographs taken at Buckingham Palace.
If you would like to order a copy of any of the photographs just note the number that appears under the image you are interested in and follow the instructions on the Order Details page.
